What we do.
Interior decorating, wallpapering, and specialist work on Broadstairs' older properties - sash windows, historic timber, lime plaster. End-of-tenancy refresh packages for landlords and sellers. See the full services list and the published price guide on the homepage.
Why affordable matters to us.
We priced our work to be genuinely accessible, not just cheaper-sounding marketing copy. Standard trade paint and labour are included in every quoted price, with no inflated call-out fees or hidden extras. If a job comes in more than the price guide suggests, we tell you why before we start, not after.
Family run.
Broadstairs Painter is a small, family-run decorating business focused entirely on domestic work. No subcontracted crews you've never met - the person who visits to quote the job is the person doing the work.
A seafront town with two building eras.
Broadstairs' clifftop above Viking Bay and the old town are lined with Victorian villas and terraces, many with bay windows and the odd genuinely listed building close to Bleak House and the harbour. Move a little further back, toward St Peter's, Reading Street and Dumpton, and the housing gets newer and more straightforward. We treat the two differently: lime plaster needs to breathe, original sash windows need the right primer system to keep sliding freely, and older bay windows near the seafront see more condensation from salt-laden coastal air finding its way past the glazing than a modern double-glazed frame inland would.
How we quote.
Photos of the room over WhatsApp or email are usually enough for a firm price against our published guide. On larger jobs we come out for a look before quoting. Quotes are fixed price - if we find something unexpected once we start (damp behind old wallpaper, movement cracks that need proper filling), we flag it, price it separately, and agree it with you before continuing.
